The Idea of Winning

Sunday Evening was the big football game of the year, most of us sat in front of the television with our friends and family cheering on our favorite team. The super bowl is more than just a fun game of football. Taking a look deeper into the team, it takes a lot more than strength, good tactics and cheering fans to win a game. Each player must have the idea of teamwork, discipline and most importantly, the idea of winning. From the thoughts in his brain to his toes, each part of his body, mind & soul must work together to win. One who strives everyday to win & complete his tasks the right way will win. Winning is a habit, and so is losing. Strive for more than what you think you are capable of everyday, anything is possible with the correct mindset.

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered with failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much, nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that kno…

9 Principles of Expectation Theory

The definition of an expectation is a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future. I once heard that happiness is reality without the expectations of others. Here are nine steps to expect the best from yourself & not expect as much from others.
9 Principles of Expectation TheoryExpectation Theory: Your fundamental beliefs determine your success.Release Your Past Beliefs: The beliefs you hold are a direct result of your thinking.Respond Outside the Circle: Over-respond instead of over-react.Build a Super-Reserve of Energy: Change your physical state.Create a Value-Added Experience: 1st impressions are the most important.Affect Others Profoundly: The more you serve others, the more attractive you will become.Market Your Talents Shamelessly: Stop being embarrassed about who and what you are…

Germs Germs Germs

“In my own research (and much done before my time), has shown that the germ theory of disease does not tell the whole story. I came to the conclusion that germs do not initiate a diseased state of the body but appear later when a person becomes ill” -Alice Lorraine Smith (contemporary Microbiologist) At our office we often get calls with someone saying they can’t come in because they are sick and they don’t want us to get it. Well, this Chiro Thot is here to clear up any confusion.First thing—We WANT you to get adjusted also when you aren’t feeling well. The adjustments will help you get better faster by boosting your immune system. Eat Your Greens

Mama was right, eating your greens is great for your health!

The power of green plants in healing has been recognized throughout history.  Many indigenous peoples—and all mammals except modern people—live primarily on grasses and green plants in time of disease.

There are many choices of delicious green vegetables in the grocery store.  We eat a lot of Kale, Chard, Broccoli, and Spinach.  These are all high in antioxidants.  Studies show that people who have a diet rich in antioxidants will live longer, healthier and stronger than those with low levels of antioxidants.

In the past thirty years, a number of green-food supplements have become popular including Wuji Chlorella and Premier Greens Mix etc.  These all have one property in common: Chlorophyll, the substance that makes plants appear green.  Actually, all plants, even citrus, contain at least some amount of chlorophyll; the greater the amount of chlorophyll, the greener the plant.  To understand green foods it is important to f…

What Smiles and Sunshine Have In Common

Smiles and sunshine have a lot in common. They both can lift our spirits, they both radiate inner warmth and they both have the power to transform someone's day.

Do you smile often?
This may seem like a strange question....but ask yourself when was the last time you smiled just for the sake of smiling.

Do you smile from your heart?
Smiles from the heart are the ones that come when you see a mother and child laughing and snuggling or an elderly couple out walking hand in hand, or when you see your most favorite person in the world or when you see a dog out playing in the snow. Those smiles are of extra value because they feel so darn good. They come up from inside you and splash onto your face for the world to see. Those smiles are contagious and hard not to respond to with a similar smile. Much like a bright and sunny day those smiles can not only change your mood or someone else's.... those smiles can make a difference in the world and those smiles increase your health!

Get adjusted regularly.  This will change your life, not only physically, such as less pain, and better mobility, but also in other areas.  Many people have found improved mental health which could mean less depression or anxiety and an increase in joy!  Improved sleep is one of the “side effects” of Chiropractic adjustments and so is an increased immune system!  Maybe you have experienced other improvements that we haven’t listed.  Tell your friends!  They deserve to live a better life too!

Be Grateful!  This simple attitude adjustment will make huge changes in your life.  Put away negativity and criticism and focus on what is good about your life.  Do you have food to eat each day?  Do you have clothes to wear and a place to live?  If so, then you are better off than 600 million other people!  Write down or tell a friend things each day that you are grateful for. A current FB trend is to take a photo each day for a year of what you are thankful for.

Four Ways to Give Thanks

These simple tips will help you to cultivate gratitude in your daily life.

By Catherine Price
Reprinted from Greater Good Magazine, Vol. IV, Issue 1. Used with permission.
Research in positive psychology has identified several ways that practicing gratitude can boost people's health and happiness. Here are four of these research-tested "gratitude interventions."

1. Write a gratitude letter.
Research by Martin Seligman, Christopher Peterson, and others has shown this one to be particularly effective. Write a letter to a mentor, family member, or some other important person in your life whom you've never properly thanked. Deliver it in person. Read it out loud. Bring tissues.

2. Keep a gratitude journal.
Studies by psychologists Michael McCullough, Robert Emmons, Sonja Lyubomirsky, and others have backed up this exercise, which involves keeping a list of things for which you're grateful—anything from your children or spouse to the beauty of the tree outside your win…
