10 Tips to Optimize Your Sleep

Sleep in complete darkness or as close to it as possible. even the tiniest bit of light in the room can disrupt your internal clock and your pineal gland's production of melatonin and serotonin.  Keep the temperature in your bedroom no higher than 70 degrees F. When you sleep, your body's internal temperature drops to its lowest level, generally about four hours after you fall asleep. Scientists believe a cooler bedroom may therefore be most conductive to sleep, since it mimics your body's natural temperature drop. Move alarm clocks and other electrical devices away from your bed. If these devices must be used, keep them as far away from your bed as possible, preferably at least 3 feet. Avoid using loud alarm clocks. It is very stressful on your body, to be suddenly jolted awake. If you are regularly getting enough sleep, an alarm may be even unnecessary. Reserve your bed for sleeping. If you are used to watching TV or doing work in bed, you may find it harder to relax...
Five Reason to Reconsider the Flu Shots For Your Child   Here are five major reasons why this government push to vaccinate virtually all children with a yearly flu vaccine is so reprehensible: The majority of flu shots contain 25 micro-grams of Mercury, an amount considered unsafe for anyone weighing less than 550 pounds! And which groups are most sensitive to the neurological damage that has been associated with mercury? Infants, children and the elderly.  A study published in the issue of the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine found that vaccinating young children against the flu appeared to have no impact on flu-related doctor visits or hospitalizations during two flu seasons. At first glance, the data did suggest that children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years derived some protection from the vaccine in these years. But after adjusting for potential relevant variables, the researchers concluded that "significant influenza vaccine effectiveness cou...

Take a Deep Breath

Want to boost your health? Here's a simple solution: Take a breath. Your lungs are larger at the bottom than the top, but most Americans are "top breathers." We live on shallow breaths which limit the diaphragm's range of motion which can make you feel anxious & tension. Learn to breathe from the gut. You know you are breathing correctly - from your diaphragm - if you see your stomach move in and out. If the only thing that moves or expands is your chest, then you are still taking only shallow breaths.  Deep breathing literally massages and moves the soft internal organs inside your rib cage, allowing your lymphatic system to rid itself of collected toxins. Only deep breathing allows you to tap this bonus power in your lower lungs. Not surprisingly, it can slow the heartbeat and lower or stabilize your blood pressure. Also singers, stage performers, broadcast announcers, and professional athletes pay great sums to voice and dialogue coaches to learn how to bre...

How to be HAPPY!

How to be Happy Change your thought process - Rather than thinking of the problems and getting desperate, imagine the best outcome and then work out what you need to do to make that happen. Life is Life, Fight for it.

We go through our daily lives in a routine. We all have our normal & usual answers to most things that interfere. But when things surprise us, how do we react? Do we stop and react quickly with the first emotion that comes to mind? Most cases we are thinking what did we do to deserve this situation that came up? There is a saying that I love, life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% of how we react. I believe Mother Teresa wanted to send that same message across with her quote. Take life for the roller coaster that it is and appreciate every situation that comes across your way. No matter how hard or unexpected it may be, it is always a blessing.  “Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy...
